Uluru and Kata Tjuta was on my bucket list for many years and what a trip it was. It might sound cliched, but there is something about seeing the rock appear over the horizon for the first time and basically every time after that. It was hot, the flies unbearable and it was simply put, "Awesome". It's hard to describe the atmosphere but when you visit, you can definitely understand why this is such a sacred area to the indigenous people.
